Elastomers - rubber materials
Can be stretched significantly with relatively little force. In general, however, elastomers have weaker mechanical properties than thermoplastic elastomers. The materials’ suitability for sealing applications is primarily related to their chemical resistance and elasticity.

RU1™
Based on acrylonitrile-butadiene, often referred to as NBR or nitrile. RU1™ offers excellent resistance to mineral oils, greases, and HFA, HFB, and HFC hydraulic fluids. -30 °C/100 °C..
RU2™
RU2™ is a fluorocarbon rubber with properties similar to those of Viton® B and is often referred to as FKM (ISO). RU2™ offers high resistance to heat, weathering, ozone, and many chemicals. RU2™ also has particularly good resistance to explosive decompression (ED). -20 °C/200 °C.
RU3™
RU3™ is a peroxide-cured elastomer based on ethylene-propylene rubber, often referred to as EPDM. RU3™ exhibits exceptional resistance to, for example, climatic stresses, hot water, steam, detergents, and glycol-based brake fluids. It is not compatible with mineral oils or nonpolar media. -50 °C/150 °C.
RU4™
RU4™ is a hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene (HNBR) rubber grade. Highly resistant to aging, ozone, and weathering. Well-suited for aliphatic hydrocarbons and crude oil. Also withstands many diluted acids and bases, even at high temperatures: -30 °C to 150 °C.
RU5™
RU5™ is a silicone rubber (VMQ). The material has low mechanical properties and is primarily used in static applications. RU5™ offers excellent resistance to environmental stresses, ozone, and aging, and performs well over a wide temperature range: -60 °C to 200 °C.
RU6™
RU6™ is a tetrafluoroethylene-propylene rubber material and is often referred to as Aflas®, FEPM, or TFE/P. RU6™ exhibits excellent resistance to HFA, HFB, and HFC fluids at temperatures up to 50°C. RU6 is also highly resistant to steam and hot water. 0 °C/200 °C.
RU15™
RU15™ is a hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene (HNBR) rubber grade for applications in the oil and gas industry. RU15™ is approved in accordance with NORSOK M-710 (Rev. 2, October 2001) for both sour fluid aging and rapid gas decompression (RGD). Well-suited for aliphatic hydrocarbons and crude oil. Also resistant to many diluted acids and bases, even at high temperatures: -30 °C to 150 °C.
